Live Well York Newsletter - Summer 2024
Welcome to the latest Live Well York newsletter. We have a number of new features to share with you.
Information Survey
We are seeking your views and feedback about how you get the information and advice you need about services, care and support as well as what’s on in your community. It’s important that all residents can access this in the way they want to.
In the consultation, it will ask you to answer general questions about how you like to access information. There is also an additional, optional section about the two community and wellbeing information websites: www.RaiseYork.co.uk (for families, children and young people) and www.LiveWellYork.co.uk (for adults).
To complete the survey please go to this link: Information Survey or pop into an Explore Library to ask for a paper copy with self-addressed envelope. The closing date for the survey is 6th October 2024.
Home Page Refresh
The homepage has been updated to give a fresher feel as well as some additional functions mentioned below. Do let us know what you think through the information survey comment box.
Home Page Banner
Our banner has now arrived. This will promote initiatives that are for the City or raising the profile of national initiatives like Mental Health Week. If you have any suggestions please email Carl Wain on AgeFriendlyYork@york.gov.uk
Latest News
When your news item goes live it will automatically appear on the home page as well. The last 3 posted articles will appear on the home page.
As well as providing greater visibility of your post it helps to keep the website fresh with new content.
You can submit news to Live Well York via the 'Suggest a News Story link'. Articles posted go live after 2-3 working days.
Don’t forget these articles can be added into a personal booklet and printed for those that do not use the internet.
Auto Notifications
Our provider PPL (people, Places, Lives) are supporting us to keep your website up to date. You will now get a notification after 6 months of posting a directory entry to check that this is up to date. You will get a reminder after 2 weeks and if there is no response you will be notified that your entry has been unpublished. Don’t worry, just email AgeFriendlyYork@York.gov.uk if you are ready to review it at a later date and we will make it live again so you won’t need to start again.
Don’t forget to add in your short description so people can see a summary of what you offer before clicking into your entry.
Bereavement Directory
We have added a new page in partnership with NHS to create a bereavement directory. We will continue to work at this but feel free to use this if this helps your work.
Service Directory
We now have over 500 services posted. There has been a gradual increase over the last 4 years but this has picked up a pace with the work in partnership with NHS through the bereavement directory and the mental health pathway.
Training
Live Well York training was provided by our Co-ordinator. If a team does require training then do contact me and I will see what I can do 01904 554595.
Analytics
We have deliberately not posted any analytics this time. Unfortunately Google have changed the way that they capture information and then this was followed by a glitch in the Live Well York system that knocked out the analytics. Very recent information does however provide healthy usage of the website.
Residents
Are you a resident of York and understand the importance of people being able to access the information they need and for it to be up to date? Then you could be our eyes and ears. If you notice anything happening in your community for adults, whether this an activity or service then if you have a minute please do check to see if its on Live Well York. If it isn’t then please contact LiveWellYork@york.gov.uk. Or if you know the people that run it then please do encourage them to post it themselves.
Work in Progress
We are currently working with partners on developing both a mental health and a dementia pathway. We have been engaging with residents with lived experience throughout the process but there is still much work to be done.
