WHAM Study - Workplace Health and Menopause

Researchers from York St John University are currently recruiting peri- and post-menopausal women for the Workplace Health and Menopause Study (WHAM Study).  The study aims to understand how much time menopausal women spend being physically active and sedentary while at work and whether this is associated with menopausal symptoms.  

Do you meet the following criteria?

  • Peri-menopausal (irregular menstrual cycle and/or have hot flashes)
  • Post-menopausal and experience hot flashes
  • Employed
  • Not injured preventing your normal physical activity
  • Not taking any menopausal related medication
  • No irritable skin condition
  • Have a smart phone

The study requires 2 visits to York St John Haxby Road Campus

  • Visit 1: We will measure your blood pressure and give you some physical activity and skin temperature monitors to wear for 7-days
  • You will be asked to complete a daily menopause symptom questionnaire during this 7-day period via an App
  • Visit 2: You will complete some cognitive tests and mood and sleep questionnaires
