What do you provide?
Cherry Trees provides short breaks which gives people and their carer the opportunity to recharge their batteries.
Who is it for?
Cherry Trees is predominantly for people with learning disabilities and also physical and sensory impairments
When does it take place?
We open seven days a week over a 24 hour period, including bank holidays.
We provide a service that is identified through a person-led assessment which meets the council’s eligibility criteria. For more information on a person-led assessment, which includes a financial assessment, please call Kirklees Council Gateway to Care on 01484 414933.
How much does it cost?
We follow government rules to work out how much you should pay. We offer a financial assessment in which we look at your financial circumstances, to work out how much you are able to contribute towards the charge. We take into account things like property, savings, pensions, stocks and shares as well as outgoings such as utility bills and council tax.
You will only be expected to pay the full amount if you are assessed as being able to afford it according to government rules, if you have over the capital limit of £23,250.00 or if you prefer not to have a financial assessment.
There are additional costs for meals and transport to and from day centres. All users of the service are required to pay for these.
