Following lockdown in March 2020, Talking Points have been unable to operate. However, online video appointments and drop-in sessions are now available for residents to talk with City of York Council’s Adult Social Care team face-to-face in a safe but effective way.
Book an appointment with a member of the adult social care team on a given date and time, or opt to join a drop-in session and wait for a private onversation.
To access a drop in, enter the Talking Point virtual waiting room (to talk to an adult social care worker) - 10.00am to midday, and 2.00pm to 4.00pm each Wednesday and Thursday. Here you will enter a virtual waiting room and simply ‘wait’ for a contact worker to be free.
As usual, you will be able to access information, advice and support from adult social care staff as well as find out more about local activities, support and resources.
Booked video appointments with the team will also be available for people who contact adult social care and would benefit from a more in depth conversation. The team can be contacted on the usual number: 01904 555111.
If you’re a carer, adult social care want to help you to support your friends and family as much as possible. Adult social care has regular Carers Clinics which are held at various community venues across York. In these clinics, staff ensure that carers are supported, as well as those people they are caring for.
For information on where the latest Carers Clinics will be held, please contact Adult Social Care on telephone (01904) 555111.
For more information about carers please also see the carers section on Live Well York.
