Goodgym York
GoodGym is a community of runners, walkers and cyclist working with community organisations, who combine getting fit with supporting older people (50+) and community projects. Requests for help have to come from a community organisation. They do not accept self-referrals.
They carry out practical tasks in the home or garden for older people who can no longer do such tasks for themselves.
Examples of tasks carried out by GoodGym York include:
- changing light bulbs
- moving heavy items of furniture
- assembling flat-pack furniture
Any required tools must be available at the property. Your local community organisation can request practical support for an older person.
