What we provide
New Earswick Less Loneliness Initiative (NELLI)

We run an informal drop in social session at the Folk Hall, every Wednesday morning from 10-12. Come for a chat and to meet new people, on your own or bring a friend.

We're a friendly bunch and food and drinks can be purchased from the Folk Hall cafe.

We also run a monthly lunch club, NELLI munch, which is usually on the third Thursday of the month. Please get in touch for more information and to book a place, or if you'd like more information about any of our activities.

NELLI aims to ensure that ‘No-one, whoever they are, is lonely or isolated in New Earswick’.

This is a big task, but that is not a reason to do nothing. We aim to initiate small local activities and events which can be the building blocks of something much bigger.

We aim to do this by… 

• Raising awareness and understanding of loneliness
• Breaking down the barriers that keep people apart
• Encouraging people to take part in community activities.
• Working with specialist groups and partners to alleviate the pain of loneliness

NELLI is for anyone in the New Earswick area or beyond who is lonely or looking to connect with new friends.

Takes place Wednesdays 10:00 - 12:00 and is free.
