Planet South Bank Foraging Walk

This is the next in a series of Foraging Walks in York which began in 2024.

Join us for an afternoon of foraging in our local area and discussing best sustainable practices. We will be walking from Millenium Bridge towards Nun Ings and back.

The walk will be between one to one and a half hours. You're invited also to gather at The Winning Post at the end of the walk to buy refreshments and chat.

Meet at the seats by the Millennium Bridge, on the Rowntree Park side of the river.

Places are limited to 25 people so that everyone has the opportunity to hear and join in with the discussions. If there are no tickets left, see the dates later in the year (below).

Tickets are entirely free, though please choose a ticket with a donation to cover Planet South Bank if you can, to reflect the value of the walk to you. We invite you not to choose a free place unless of course a donation is beyond what you can afford.

Dogs welcome; no age restriction - children welcome. Please bear in mind that we will be walking off-path.

As the seasons change, so do the plants and those that are available to eat, so having the opportunity to walk through the seasons is a great way to get closer to nature.

Future dates in 2025 are Sunday 25 May (to include a foraging 'lunch') and Sunday 30 July. Each walk starts at 2pm. To receive details of the Eventbrite sign-up for these walks, please sign-up for updates at https://planetsouthbank.org.uk/subscribe-for-updates/

We also hope to arrange a foraging walk as part of The Friends of Rowntree Park's autumn fair, in September.
