Accessible Arts & Media

IMPs is a year-round programme of fun, inclusive music activities for children and young people from York and the surrounding area.
Senior IMPs is a weekly, inclusive music group for young people aged 11+ who love making music. Siblings and friends are welcome too. You don’t need any previous musical experience to take part and we support everyone to get involved and express themselves in the way that works best for them.
- Learn new musical skills
- Develop social and communication skills, including learning to use simple signs
- Develop skills in team working
- Develop leadership skills (you’ll get the chance to lead songs, warm-ups and music activities and learn how to lead workshops in our IMPs Training Programme)
- Grow in confidence
- Meet new people and make new friends
Time: Monday nights from 6-7.30pm during term time
Venue: Acomb Methodist Church Hall
Cost: £6
Senior IMPs gives you the chance to be in a singing and signing choir, try out lots of different instruments and get involved in songwriting and composing new pieces of music.
Some young people come to IMPs independently and others come along with a carer or support worker. Please feel free to contact us to discuss your individual support needs.
We also run IMPs Holiday Clubs. These give children and young people the chance to take part in fun, inclusive music activities during the school holidays.
If you want any more information please call 01904 626965 or email imps@aamedia.org.uk
