Fishergate, Fulford and Heslington Local History Society

Fishergate, Fulford and Heslington Local History Society

We are a group of people interested in the history and heritage of the south-eastern quarter of the city of York, including the Fishergate and Fulford Road area and the adjacent villages of Fulford and Heslington.

We hold monthly meetings with illustrated talks on a wide range of local subjects, presented by experts in their field.  We also have occasional guided walks around our area.

Our events are open to all, but we hope you will want to join for just £5. Tea and coffee and nice cakes and biscuits are usually served after our meetings.  We usually meet in the hall behind St Oswald's church in Fulford, but events are also held in Heslington.

Look at our website for the programme of meetings and a very large collection of photographs and articles on a wide range of local places and topics.
