Description:

Our City Hub happens every Saturday at York Explore Library.

It is a migrant-led hub that helps migrants settle into their local communities. We work in partnership with stakeholders to promote community cohesion, to offer multi-lingual advice services and to provide practical support to overcome language barriers.

Our vision is for communitites that respect diversity, welcome newcomers and value their contribution.

The morning session from 9.30am-11.30am provides support on:

UK Rights and Responsibilities
Health eg registering with a doctor or dentist
Understanding what the Police can help with
Education eg registering your child at school
Housing
Benefits
Assistance with completing forms
Understanding utility bills (water/gas/electricity)

The afternoon session from 1.00pm-3.00pm includes:

A platform for migrants to meet and organise cultural workshops and events of their cultures
Know more people from different backgrounds
Cultural exchange and learning
Unleash your potential
Feel more at home in society
