What we provide
Basically as per our constitution: Lectures/talks first Wednesday each month, Poppleton Centre, 7.30pm covering local history, national history and international history. Oral history of village elders - 10 year project and continuing. Transcripts and topics added to website in due course. Archaeology of moated site in progress with drone used; report shortly. Publishing books re various aspects village life and death. 'Poppleton Sons of the Great War Remembered' to be printed shortly.
Members of Poppleton History Society but non-members welcome to lectures for a fee. Normally about 40 people attend and facilities at the Centre excellent eg screen, projection, audio, loop etc. Refreshments after each meeting.
Once a month lectures - October to May only.
Single adult £10. Family £16 Non-members £3
