York Shine Night Walk 2025

I’m looking for volunteers to help at this year’s event, on Saturday 27^th September.

 
York Shine is a 10K night walk that takes place round the city of York. The event starts at 7pm, come be apart of cheering particpants on while they walk the beautiful streets of York. 

Timings approx from 17:30pm until 22:00pm Full brief given on all roles! Snacks & drinks are provided. Fun is guaranteed! Here’s all the roles below.

Looking for positive, proactive, friendly people to get stuck into one of our many roles and help to create a truly memorable event.  

Before the event, you can give us your preference for what you’d like to do on the day. We will endeavour to accommodate this, but it will depend on volunteer attendance. Here’s a list of the different roles we have on offer.  

• General Volunteer – Happy to help wherever is needed! 
  
  

• Course Route Marshal– You will be located at a strategic point along the course, ready to cheer and motivate the walkers as they make their way across the city.   You will be supported by a Zone Manager and be paired up with another volunteer.  You can also bring a friend to buddy up with! 

• Pit Stop Volunteer – You could be placed at one of our pit-stops, helping to motivate the walkers & handing out refreshments. 
  
  

• Venue Volunteer – assisting in tasks at Start/Finish venues such as set-up and handing out medals and water.
