Dementia Yorkshire
Dementia Yorkshire

Dementia Yorkshire is a Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO) based in York, which was established in April 2017 with the purpose of providing support and assistance to those living with dementia in Yorkshire. The CIO is run solely by volunteers who are all dedicated and passionate about supporting people.
As part of our services, we hold monthly themed activity sessions for individuals living with dementia. The sessions aim to provide reminiscence through the use of all 5 senses, wherever possible. Some of the themes in our previous sessions have been the 1950's, sports day and musicals.
Our activity sessions are becoming ever more popular and are attended by many individuals living with dementia, together with their families and friends. We also welcome individuals who are feeling lonely or isolated and are looking for a place to meet and chat with others.
Activity sessions take place at St James the Deacon Church Hall, Woodthorpe, York on the first Thursday of each month 1.45pm - 3.15pm.
The group is free to attend. Donations are welcome but are not compulsory.
