This large site, surrounded by stray land and open fields, is just north of the level crossing on Wigginton Road. Although it is only a mile from the city centre, this site has a setting with a sense of the countryside. Allotment tenants at Bootham Stray are a mix of experienced and new gardeners, pigeon fanciers and poultry keepers. Site facilities include a site cabin, toilet and community gardens, managed by the allotment association.
