York Wheels runs a volunteer car driver scheme where customers can book a car in advance to collect them and take them to their destination. The charge depends on distance travelled. To book ring 01904 630080.

All our drivers are volunteers who use their own cars to provide a door to door car service for elderly people or people with a mobility problem and cannot access public transport. Our office is situated in York Hospital.

All cars must be pre-booked at least a day in advance but we do get very busy at certain times of the day, so please book your car as soon as you know what you want to do.

We can take you to the hospital, the doctors or dentists, the optician or podiatrist, to the hairdressers or to visit friends. really we can take you anywhere that you want to go.

We can take people on holiday, to the airport or to visit relatives who live out of York.

The fare is worked out on mileage travelled to cover the cost of the volunteers expenses.
