What does Survive offer?
* Helpline: open Monday – Thursday (excluding public holidays) from 10am to 12pm on freephone 0808 145 1887.
*Counselling: Your counsellor will listen, will help you to stabilise and regulate your emotions and work with you to find the strength you need to cope with and recover from your past experiences. Your counsellor will work with you to tailor your counselling sessions to meet your specific needs.
*Specialist Trauma Therapy: Our counsellors understand the complexities of surviving sexual violence and abuse. They work with post traumatic stress disorder, dissociative conditions, complex trauma, depression and anxiety in a safe and confidential setting. Your counsellor will work with you throughout this process on your memories and how your experiences have affected the relationships you have had subsequently.
* Support work: Support Work provides emotional and practical support to survivors of sexual violence as well as their parents, partners, carers, friends and other family members.
*Library Service: Borrow specialist books about sexual abuse and recovery free of charge for up to 1 month.
* Anonymouse Intelligence: Anonymous intelligence works a little bit like CrimeStoppers – it allows you to pass on information about someone to the police without having to report the crime or go to court. Your Survive practitioner can help you make an informed decision about whether or not to provide anonymous intelligence.
