New Directories

The entries in the Community Activity directory and the Events calendar are now combined into 'What's On' and 'Hubs and Clubs' directories. These new sections went live a few weeks ago and we've been working through the entries to move them in the right place.

What's On

The 'What's On' directory has a calendar function which means you can now search using days, and dates as well as the pre-existing 'Where', 'Who' and 'What' filters.

To appear in this directory entries need to have date specific information. This functionality works best for one-off events, or recurring activities that happen on set days in the week or month. We realise that a small number of recurring activities are held sporadically, and might not fit easily into this format. If that's the case get in touch on 01904 551006.

Hubs & Clubs

The 'Hubs and Clubs' directory includes broader, more constant, entries that are not date specific like sports clubs, libraries and other community venues. It could also include online, as well as physical hubs.

If you have an entry in the 'What's On' directory you have been sent an email recently to check and, if necessary, update your entry. Thank you to everyone that have updated their entries. If you've not received the reminder or you have any other questions give me a call on 01904 551006.

Partners Meeting

Thanks to everyone that came to the last meeting. We had representatives from YOPA, Local Area Co-ordinators, York Cares, Age UK York, 100% Digital York and York Human Rights City.

We reviewed user numbers, most searched pages and terms and accessibility of the site. We were joined by Elizabeth Webster and Brenda Whittaker from the Family Information Service. They provided an overview of the award-winning information service for parents and carers of children and young people aged 0 -19 (or up to 25 for disabled children). Find out more about the Family Information Service here.

The next partners meeting is 12th July 2023.
