Free independent advice and support is available for all residents on social welfare issues including benefits, debts, employment, housing and immigration. The following local services may be able to help.
Many of the agencies operate a drop in service, appointments, home visiting, and community based advice surgeries around the City.
Please note, a number of the agencies provide services on single issues such as welfare benefits or for particular client groups such as older people or young people.
Get benefits and money advice to make sure you’re getting all the help available. Use a free independent benefits calculator to find out:
- what benefits you could get
- how to claim
- how your benefits will be affected if your circumstances change
If you need further help there are a range of advice and information services working across the City.
The services below provide specific areas of advice and support. Some services are for particular client groups.
Please select the service for your needs.
For more information about each service click the service name to see their entry in our directory.
